Healing Through Poetry, Learning to Express Our Divine Nature - monthly gathering

  • Songs of the Sacred Self (map)

Learn to express your Divine Nature through the "modality" of poetry. These monthly sessions are to help us discover the emotions that are evoked in us from the words of another our ourselves. It's an incredible healing tool that anyone can use, whether you believe you can write poetry or not. We are not in this session to see who can be super poets or wordsmiths, or to critique form, prose, intention... we are here to learn to use words as best we can to express our innermost self and to express the truth of our existence... and discover how the words of others can impact us... and why.

As spiritual beings, creativity is innate in us but sometimes laying dormant until nurtured. This group is intended to nurture and to heal. Poetry is where words flow from images, sensations, emotions, inspiration, experience and more. It can release trauma and emotions held in the body in a fluid way if practised regularly.

It is meant to be felt throughout the body, a vibration that flows through the cells, through the passageways of the energy centres of the body. For this reason, even if you write poetry in a language other than English, you are invited to share it.

We will have a short meditation during each gathering to open us to the vibration of poetic healing. You are invited to share either your own poetry (in any form) or that of someone you admire or just come to listen. Poetry can be impromptu exercises as well during the evening.

No critiquing is permitted.
